    Chief Executive Officer, Cory Group

    Nicholas Pollard is the Group Chief Executive of Cory Riverside Energy, a position he had held since joining the company in December 2015.

    He has a wealth of industry experience in infrastructure construction, operation and funding having held senior positions at Railtrack plc, Network Rail, and executive positions in Skanska, Bovis Lend Lease, Navigant and Balfour Beatty. He has established and led businesses across the UK, Middle East, and Asia Pacific

    Nicholas has served as an advisor to the UK Government; he chaired the Cabinet Office Efficiency & Reform Group’s Procurement and Lean Client Task Group; was appointed as an Independent Programme Advisor for TfL (reporting to the London Mayor and the Secretary of State for Transport); and more recently was as a regulatory advisor to the Water Industry Commission for Scotland.

    Nicholas currently serves on the CBI Infrastructure Board.

    Richard was appointed as CFO at Cory in 2009. Richard is a Chartered Accountant, he trained and qualified with PwC.

    Richard joined Marconi in 2000 and then AlixPartners in 2003.

    Toby is the Group’s Director of HR and has been with Cory for almost 15 years. He is responsible for ensuring that the Group meets and exceeds its employment and pension related obligations and continues to be an employer of choice and an investor in people.

    Prior to Cory Toby worked for, amongst others, Harvey Nichols and the NHS. Toby holds a degree in Business and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

    Toby is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

    Chris Jones joined Cory in 1989. Chris advises on and manages health, safety, welfare, quality, environmental and transport issues across the group, he is also responsible for the management of the Cory insurance portfolio.

    Chris was involved in the formation of the Waste Industry Safety and Health forum (WISH) and became its first elected Chair. Chris has been a member of the ESA Health and Safety Committee for more than 25 years and chaired the committee for 15 years. Chris has been Moderator of the European environmental services trade association (FEAD) health and safety task force since 2011.

    Chris Jones is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Waste Management, Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

    Chris Holds a Diploma in Safety Management, a BSc (Special Hons) in Chemistry and a BA (Hons) in Astrophysics.

    Tess Bridgman is the General Counsel and Company Secretary for the Cory Group. In 2014, Tess worked as legal counsel at Aegis Defence Services Limited, a UK private security and geopolitical risk services company.

    From 2011-2014, she was legal counsel for Meridian Energy, New Zealand’s largest electricity company, where she was involved in the then state-owned enterprise’s listing on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges. Tess undertook her legal training with Russell McVeagh in Wellington, New Zealand.

    Tess holds a BA (majoring in Politics) and a LLB Hons (First Class) from the University of Otago, and Masters in Law from the University of Toronto. She was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2008.

    Group Chief Operating Officer of Cory Riverside Energy

    Julian Walker joined Cory Riverside Energy in June 2017. He has extensive senior management experience, having worked for a number of global logistics businesses in the UK, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Australia.

    Julian joined Cory Riverside Energy from Impala Terminals, the multi-modal logistics provider, and has also held management roles at Marine Infrastructure Partners, Euroports Holdings and P&O. Throughout his career, Julian has taken a leading role in integrating businesses that operate across multiple locations and has successfully delivered multi-billion dollar projects in challenging environments.

    He holds an MBA from the Saïd Business School, Oxford University, and has served on the boards of businesses in the UK, USA, China, Dubai, Finland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

    Ben was appointed as the Finance Director of the Cory Riverside Energy business in June 2017 having been with Cory since 2010.

    Prior to his current appointment Ben was the Head of Group Finance, and was instrumental in reshaping the Cory group, culminating in the refinancing of the Cory Riverside Energy business in March 2017.

    Ben is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.

    Andy has worked at Cory since 2004, he was responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of our waste to energy facility in Belvedere on time and to budget.

    Andy is the Chairperson of the Renewable Energy Working Group at The Environmental Services Association.

    Andy holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Gloucestershire. He is a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

    Fran is Cory’s General Manager leading their London Transfer Stations and MRF Operations. Fran has over 20 years’ extensive industry experience, prior to Cory Fran worked as a Senior Environmental Policy Advisor for a Local Authority.

    Fran has a Bachelor of Science from Massey University (New Zealand) and an Executive Diploma in Management from the Chartered Management Institute (UK).

    Lee has over 40 years’ experience in power generation. As Plant Manager, Lee manages and oversees all areas of the business’s operations, safety and maintenance while ensuring contractual, environmental, health and safety compliance is met as required by customer agreements and local and national legislation.

    Lee has gained a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering and has a NEBOSH certificate.

    Tipu started his working career at sea on ocean-going vessels. Working at sea has given him a unique insight into the front end of the industry and what it means to be a professional at sea.

    He then completed his MBA in Ship Management from Greenwich University, London. He also holds Six Sigma Green Belt qualification from PMI, London. Before joining Cory he was working as a Port Manager with one of the largest towage companies in the UK. In his current role he is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the tug and barge operation and for the repair facility at Charlton and Gravesend.

    Richard is the Group’s Head of Planning and Development and has been with Cory for almost nine years. 

    He is responsible for ensuring that the Group is well placed to meet its planned business and development needs while identifying and delivering future business growth and development opportunities.

    Prior to Cory, Richard worked for, amongst others, Cambridgeshire County Council.  Richard is a professionally qualified chartered town planner.
